The Lower Colorado River Authority says it expects Lake Travis to rise between 1.3 and 2.4 feet thanks to the rain we’ve received.

The southern Dallas suburb of Lancaster was one of the hardest hit areas yesterday. The National Weather Service said as many as a dozen tornadoes hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The first day of February felt more like the first day of April. We hit a high of 82 degrees yesterday — just shy of Austin’s record high temperature for Feb. 1.
‘I was so helpess,’ Walnut Place tornado victim says
“It was scary,” Mike Bennett said, his voice wavering and tears building in his eyes as he surveyed what was left of his home on Happy Trail. “I was so helpless. I will do anything to protect my family, and I couldn’t do anything.”
The Bennetts had moved into their newly renovated Northeast Austin home in August. Their home was badly damaged in yesterday’s storm.
