State seeks to revoke liquor licenses for 8 Yassine bars
The eight downtown Austin bars owned by Yassine Enterprises - including Pure, Spill, Kiss & Fly, Treasure Island, Hyde, Fuel, Malaia and Roial - could have their liquor licenses removed because of money owed to liquor distributors and back taxes to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Mike Yassine, the company’s president and owner, remains behind bars along with nine associates who were jailed last month and face federal drug, money laundering and weapons charges.

A woman has been charged after police say she created a fake Facebook page for her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend that contained sexually explicit videos, according to court documents.
The woman who created the fake Facebook page was charged with online impersonation, which is considered a crime in Texas when someone creates a Web page or profile without consent and uses the persona to harm, defraud, threaten or intimidate someone.

On the day he disappeared in September 2000, 36-year-old Paresh Patel was last seen visiting three downtown nightclubs he co-owned with Hussein “Mike” Yassine and his brother.
That evening, Patel’s empty Lexus SUV was found with the keys in the ignition in a parking lot off Airport Boulevard. He has not been seen since.

Hussein Ali ‘Mike’ Yassine and his brother, Mohammed Ali ‘Steve’ Yassine will both remain in federal custody, officials say. Mike Yassine’s company, Yassine Enterprises, owns eight downtown Austin bars, which have been closed since Thursday’s arrests.

Austin nightclub owner Hussein Ali “Mike” Yassine and nine other people arrested last week and charged with taking part in a drug ring will appear in federal court this morning for a detention hearing.
Unlike nasal decongestants, which can be used to make methamphetamine, laundry detergent is generally used for its intended purpose after it is stolen, authorities and industry officials say. Many thieves are selling it on the street themselves at cut-rate prices, sometimes outside coin-operated laundries.
