The Lower Colorado River Authority says it expects Lake Travis to rise between 1.3 and 2.4 feet thanks to the rain we’ve received.
Drought easing its impacts across Central Texas
Thanks to a wetter-than-normal winter, drought conditions across Texas have been steadily improving. And, for the first time since March 22, 2011, part of Travis County is in ‘moderate’ drought, the lightest form, after a summer in which much of the state was in ‘exceptional’ drought, the worst form.
HUD says at least 80 percent of the Texas grants are for the Bastrop area.
Texas and the Austin area continued to chip away at their unemployment rates in December, according to the Texas Workforce Commission’s monthly jobs report released Friday.

Yesterday, the National Transportation Safety Board recommended an outright ban on cell phones and texting while driving.
Officials in Central Texas largely support the ban, but ultimately say it’s up to state legislators to decide whether to impose such a ban.
