Activists call for officer’s firing after fatal shooting →
As a cadre of local activists called for the firing of a police officer who fatally shot a suspect this summer in East Austin, Police Chief Art Acevedo announced he is delaying whether or not to issue discipline against that officer.
Earlier this morning, a handful of community activists gathered outside police headquarters to call for the firing of officer Nathan Wagner. On May 30, Wagner fired numerous shots into a car 20-year-old Byron Carter, Jr. was riding in, killing Carter and wounding his unnamed juvenile driver.
